Waterfalls
The Coffs Coast - where the mountains really do meet the sea!
The Great Dividing Range rises to 1008 metres above sea level.
Just west of Coffs Harbour at Mt Moombil, past Dorrigo, a quiet country town surrounded by rich, lush agricultural land sitting on the eastern escarpment plateau of the Great Dividing Range, at an altitude of 762 metres.
Towering upwards to a magnificent 1562 metres at Point Lookout further west, with views of the escarpment across the New England National Park, Bellinger Valley and on clear days, right back to the ocean.
In between we know where to find cool, refreshing secret mountain waterfalls off (and on) the beaten track.
Gleniffer Falls
A short flight from Coffs Harbour can get you up the mountain foothills over pristine rainforests, mountain eucalypt forests, and opening up to the pretty Bobo Valley with views back to the coast or further west to the famous Dorrigo Plateau.
From an orbiting vantage point of Mt. Moombil, a low level pass over the beautiful Gleniffer Falls where the earth just falls away beneath you; take in a breathtaking vista of the Bellingen Valley and southern coastline with views as far as South West Rocks or the hidden rock pools and river below.

Dorrigo Waterfalls
There are many pretty waterfalls in the Dorrigo area. Of course there are the well-known Dangar Falls just north of town, but also several other unusual falls, wonderful rapids and waterways, all within a short flight from Dorrigo Township. These aren’t on tourist maps and you can’t get to them by road – only way to see them is by helicopter!

Ebor Falls
On the other side of town lies World Heritage-listed Dorrigo National Park. The park covers around 12,000 hectares of the Great Escarpment of the Dorrigo Plateau, some of which was once covered by basaltic lava flows from the Ebor Volcano.
Ebor Falls is where the Guy Fawkes River takes a spectacular plunge over basalt rock. The now extinct Ebor Volcano created the basalt rich area around Ebor Falls more than 18 million years ago.
Wollomombi Falls
One of the highest falls in the State, Wollomombi Falls refers to where the Wollomombi River drops about 250 metres down a jagged cliff face. The view is particularly spectacular after heavy rain – but rain or not, the area is superb.
